Bob Lyons and Jane Tohill of our two Kingston, Ontario
stores, two happy franchisees, enjoying the friendship of their customers
and the comfort of their stores. Going to work is a pleasure! |
What We're All About
Our primary business function is two-fold. It involves the
selling of wine, beer, cider, and liqueur kits as well as malt extracts, grains,
additives and hardware used in the home brewing process.
On-site wine making facilities provide a service for customers who
cannot or will not make wine at home. Expertise in wine making is essential as
you will be regarded as an "expert" by the customer.
This is what they expect. Understanding of and adherence to
government regulations is crucial to your success. On premise wine making is only permitted in Ontario and British Columbia in
Canada, at this time. Most states in the United States also permit this
service.
Our business
is one that requires a great deal of pre-sale and post-sale consultation. Initial
decisions are not spontaneous so nurturing a potential brewer or wine maker
through the decision making stage is critical and time consuming. You must
allow yourself to be available for customers' concerns, consultation and
encouragement. Customer loyalty is established during this period and guarantees
your on-going success.
We are members of the Canadian Franchise Association, the
Canadian Home Wine Makers Trade Association, the Retail Merchants Association, the
Retail Council of Canada and the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses.
All Bitters & Grapes Franchise operators are active membersof their
community Chambers of Commerce.
Our Corporate Philosophy
Franchising is the most logical means of establishing rapid
market share in this high growth industry. It also provides a fit with the
franchisor's philosophy that the most effective growth can be achieved through
a team of leader/owners rather than through an outmoded "we-they" business
structure.
Therefore, the success of all Bitters & Grapes franchises will
be the result of a team effort with compatible owner/operators working together
towards mutual goals.
"How Do You Score?" is a personal assessment
that goes along way toward overcoming initial decision making concerns.
